Discussions over the wall

Much like a guided tour, our discussion of personal experience with two individuals who had grown up, one on either side of divided Berlin gave new insight to the subject. The interactive communication opened a stage on which we were able to pose many lingering questions and have many popular speculations and historical assumptions solved. Beyond affirmation of facts and wonder, the insight into daily life in proximity to the wall was a rare opportunity to experience these events vicariously through each of them. This personal discussion of life in the time and place of the Berlin wall opens a new facet of thought and brings the event beyond text and photographs. Thinking in a new forum and with new perspective, life beside the wall is normalized and becomes more recognizable as an accepted part of life of Berliners at this point in history.
